Haha..alvin u forgot this:
When we were taking photos on the garden bridge, and after the first shot, you said take "another one lah!" then i said "got another camera" then you said "change lah!!" haha and started to come towards me. then i thought you were going to take the camera from me and change with the uncle but who knows you meant change position and that looked really comical! hahahahahaha....still cannot get over it..=)
Well, tried the pineapple mooncakes, they tasted pretty good after all! the sweet pineapple kind..

hey hey...too bad paul missed it last night. but there's confirmed a next time!! ^_^
but just to let paul relive the events that took place yesterday..here's a rough account:

4:44pm yeelin smsed me apolegetically, saying she might be late and jason is joining us
5:15pm i reached chinatown point and receives her sms; replies it's okay; then i walked around for a while, trying to avoid the donation-seeking people (successfully)
5:30pm i smsed alvin asking him to sms me when he reaches; he said he was reaching already
5:40pm i went down to the mrt control; they are already there and we exchanged prom photos (come to think of it, it's a pretty weird place to exchange them!)
5:50pm walked around pagoda street, saw some cheap thrills (quiksilver t shirts going for 6.90, yeelin looking for shorts to no suitable avail :p we decided to go back later)
6:10pm walked some more of pagoda street, then turned back cos we've almost reached the road, turned into trengganu street (perpendicular to pagoda street)
6:15pm saw a bag shop, look-see-ed a bit, then decided to go back later to get my bag
6:25pm this's when the mooncakes start flooding in! stall after stall selling different varieties of mooncakes..some cheap some expensive..yeelin wanted to try the flaky kind cos she's never eaten them before..so we decided to go back later to get some after dinner (procrastination rules)
6:35pm entered chinatown complex hawker centre on the 2nd floor...it's just the biggest hawker centre i've ever seen! (so sua-ku) spent ten minutes looking for this famous claypot rice stall, then when we finally found it (with a long queue) alvin found out we had to wait 45 minutes for the good stuff so we just hecked the stall! and moved on to greener (and cooler) pastures
6:45pm finally found a seat on the other wing of the hawker centre and alvin was the guardsman guarding the fortress while yeelin and i went on a gastronomic tour of the 101 (possibly more) stalls there..since there were too many stalls we decided to trawl the stalls systematically..and order the first thing we feel like eating! haha...and it turns out it was clay pot rice again! $12 it didn't look good but i thought it tasted okay in the end! then the next dish was fried dumplings $3.50 for 10; then the last one was of course yeelin's carrot cake $3. value for money eh?
6:55pm at abt now alvin received a strange call from wanyi who thought he was her date for the night. haha :p then yeelin was trying to take a professional shot of the three dished on our table, to the amusement of the people around us. (sua ku tourists! heh heh)
7:00pm then we ate! and ate! and ate! (p/s: yeelin's on a diet. haha joking lah.)
i forgot what time we left the place.. but anyway we forgot to take a picture of the empty dishes! =( Then we passed a cd shop, and i bought an oldies cd for my father's birthday, and alvin was hesitating over S.H.E.'s 'Superstar' cd.
decided to get a drink..so we retraced out steps a bit. but then was overwhelmed by the mooncakes and went bargain hunting. i bought pineapple mooncakes for my family $3.50 only! but the flaky ones were so expensive..no money to buy..
then we turned right to smith street (perpendicular to trengganu street and hence parallel to pagoda street), also dubbed 'food street'. saw a tang yuan stall which we decided to patronise LATER. =) took a photo. but then too crowded so didn't get a seat. grabbed a fruit juice then went to the bazaar in front of chinatown complex. there was this waffle hotdog thingy..which didn't go very well with the medicated oil smell emanating from nearby...*sheepish smile*
just abt now devin called saying he's coming. yes i remember it's 8:15 now. then we went back shopping at trengganu street. bought my bag (buy one get one free! $13.90 only!) then decided to get the tangyuans. 4 bowls at $1.50 each only! then alvin went to pick devin up. (to be continued...)

yah i know now...a bit tiresome to explain the whole thing over and over again..but then again you can't not tell them forever...but i think when you meet them then tell them also not too late...=)

for sat? do u prefer to go see lanterns at chinatown (mooncake festival) or eat at serangoon gardens (chomp chomp)? The former's more convenient to meet (chinatown mrt), the latter I am not too sure of the transport there...maybe have to take taxi there..

20.8.03yl > no use asking me about PBL cos we juz had our 1st serious session. It was (unexpectedly) good. Discussions were spontaneous and our PBL tutor was quite enthu.
sy > sunday duty is sian.. juz find something to do lor.. read bk, listen to music, play a fool, count ur toes 100 times, try to lick ur elbow (which is physically impossible), fantasise, chat on phone, go icq2 go, start studying in advance for ur university, do pullups

yoyo..thanks alvin it was sudden so i was more shocked than anything else
he went for an operation to close a hole in his heart abt 3 weeks ago, then on wed nite he suddenly felt breathless and was rushed to the hospital but to no avail..still dunno the exact reason..anyone care to suggest? i don't see any partiular link between feeling breathless and his heart..
yah the nus thingy was mad! when yeelin told me i was like...huh? wth?
Alvin - dapsy was a one-second creation! haha..
teachers' day...the guys can only book out on sat rite or earliest fri (29aug) evening, so it's quite hard for them to catch the teachers day celebration..but i figure some hardworking teachers like ms wong n ooi would probably still go back to hwachong on sat..30aug so we may be able to catch them around then! then after that eat the chicken rice at chn high canteen..usually only a few stalls are open on sats..including the only one paul patronises..:p
when's the trifac bash? what's it abt n what's there to do there?

yoyoyo, was too busy just now that's why the first post was devoid of any substantial content.
anyway, at the suggestion of yeelin tang, this blog has been specially set up for the Chinese High Canteen group - devin alvin paul shengyong n yeelin. haha.
really hope this would help to keep us in touch, on a more personal level at least (as compared to the already getting quite crowded 79 blog!) ^.^
